Looks like peer pressure finally got the better of me.
If you're looking for a group of people to blame for the creation of yet another blog on the internet, send all responses to the gang that regularly hangs out at Michael Allred's AAAPop.com forum. Michael Allred, if you're not familiar with the name, is a very talented comic book writer/artist who's responsible for such great titles as "X-Static", "iZombie", "Red Rocket 7" and his most famous creation "Madman". He's also an extremely nice fellow and very welcoming to his fans. Of course when someone is that generous to others, it attracts like-minded individuals. And those are the people you should blame.
Within days of Mike starting up his own blog, several members of the forum did the same (if they hadn't already owned a blog). Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing except every one who did were folks I found to be intelligent, talented, funny, and just plain unique. They began sharing pieces of art I really enjoyed, posted stories that hooked me in, and told personal experiences that left me wanting to hear more. And the more blogs I visited, the more I began to feel left out.
I'm not the greatest artist in the world or a superb storyteller, but I try to improve. And that's going to be the main focus of this blog. I might once in awhile go on a tangent about what's on my mind but for the most part I'll be using this space to post things I'm either working on or have finished. My greatest wish isn't that this becomes a place a lot of people will check out so much as a place I might get some honest feedback and suggestions. What I'm doing right; what I'm doing wrong; what the men in the white coats will use as evidence when I get locked up.... the usual stuff. :)
Anyhow, if you're reading this - thank you! I hope I post stuff that's worthy of your time. If not, like I said - you can blame the nice folks at the AAApop.com forum.
